Rudy is the Co-founder and CEO of the Society of Voice Arts and Sciences (SOVAS™), a nonprofit corporation that oversees a variety of programs designed to foster job creation in the voice communications industries, through job training, education, professional networking, scholarships and the acknowledgement of exemplary achievement in pursuit of humanitarian causes. SOVAS’ most well-known program is the SOVAS Weekend, which brings together voice actors, content creators, casting directors and marketing professionals from around the world to share new insights, mentor new entrants into the industry, promote professional networking for mutual growth and develop effective ways to evolve the industry and support humanity. SOVAS™ represents the longest running voiceover conference in the world and has honored legendary talents, such as James Earl Jones, Lily Tomlin, Muhammad Ali, VAN Jones, William Shatner, Michael Buffer, Erin Brockovich, Ken Burns, Nancy Cartwright, Sigourney Weaver, Patrick Howard Fraley and Phil Lamarr.
A graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Rudy is an Emmy-winning producer, who wrote and directed documentaries for PBS, before turning his long-form filmmaking to 15 award-winning commercials, promos and interstitials under the banner of Push Creative Advertising, which he founded along with his wife and business partner, Joan Baker. Push Creative Advertising, garnered awards and acclaim developing brand strategy and creative media for American Express, the Olympic Games, Costco, WE TV, NBC Sports, Lexus, FOX News, Lifetime Television, and Spike TV.
Today, Rudy’s mission is one with that of SOVAS™, to elevate the deserving stature of unsung talents who contribute mightily to global communication through voice acting, and encourage this community to scale up their natural inclination to contribute to the advancement of social causes in all possible ways.
